What kind of world are we passing on to future generations? What impact does the climate crisis have on our children?
On stage, three dancers and a singer move through changing climate conditions, framed by an acoustic weather landscape. Dealing with anger, anxiety, panic and powerlessness has become difficult in view of the ecological crisis. How should resources and responsibility be distributed? They try to keep everyday life going, torn between hope, pragmatism and self-accusation, while the children are already in another world. Where is that place? Is it a climate capsule? What are they doing there? Are they taken care of?
The interdisciplinary production is inspired by interviews with parents and people who have consciously decided against parenthood on account of to the climate crisis. They were asked the following questions: How do we imagine the future of the coming generations? What feelings do these ideas trigger in us? What are we fighting for – and what hopes have we given up?
