BACK TO THE ROOTS

With a huge silver ghetto blaster on stage, denim jackets and lots of energy, Renegade returns to the roots of hip hop in Germany. Break legend Niels “Storm” Robitzky and six dancers revive the breaking of the 1980s, which caused a sensation with spectacular moves in the pedestrian zones of the big cities. But where does urban dance stand today and how have its aesthetics evolved? Can the spirit of the early years be revived, or has it never disappeared? “Back to the Roots” is a journey through time and at the same time a review of the various urban styles.
