“STAGES INTO THE NOW” are cinematic as well as performative works that explore intimate relationships with different places. For the first film, choreographer Alexandra Waierstall has teamed up with British dancer Scott Jennings, a former member of the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, and Wuppertal artist Horst Weierstall to shed light on their relationship with the Wuppertal Opera House. It is an encounter that merges past, present and future. Full of reflection and emotion, care and tenderness, the film negotiates – as in a state of doze – the permanence of change and transformation.
